Jesus and dialogue in the Gospels:

a) The gospel passage - Matthew 15:21-28 'The Canaanite woman's faith' is a story of a gentile who still received a miracle from Jesus by showing him that she had a great amount of faith.

b) The woman who was originally rejected by Jesus, convinces Him that even the 'dogs get thrown scraps from the table.' Referring to herself as a dog showed Jesus that even though she wasn't a Jew, she had great faith in Jesus and as a result he healed her daughter who she clammed was possessed by a demon.

c) This dialogue is an example of a conversation with Jesus, it has questions, answers, statements and responses.

d) Humanity is shown when the disciples and the woman find they have something in common, faith in Jesus. Prayer is shown when the woman begs and pleads for the help of Jesus, and he decides to help when He sees she has great faith in him by calling him Lord.

e) The movement towards peace and goodwill happens when Jesus decides to help a woman who is not a Jew, but instead has great faith. The womans daughter, is changed by having the demon taken out of her, change also happens to the mother and disciple when they learn yo accept each others differences because their faith is greater then that. Jesus Himself as well was changed, at the start of the day he set out to help his fellow Jews, but by the end of the day He learned that He can help not just Jews, but all those who show their faith and belief in Him and His father.

f) The book 'Does my Head look big in this' By Abdel Fattah, thought me to look at not only muslims but people in general in a whole new way. I had the impression that Muslims were forced to wear the hijab, and in some cases they are. But most of the time they choose to wear it. It's not only a tradition, but it is a symbol for their religion and throughout all the hardships they may face while wearing it, they still show it off with pride.

RE INCURSION:
Dandenong Interfaith
On the day of the religion incursion, the year 10 students had a wide range of various speakers from different faiths/religions come talk to us. The first people we heard from were of that of the Dandenong Interfaith. Elders from their own churches talked to us and answered our questions, giving a different answer and view of opinion from each person. It was a very interesting experience and all the Killester girls gained a lot more knowledge and understanding through this. It was definitely an interesting experience.

JCMA
This part of the day included JCMA visiting us. That means we got to hear you from people of Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious backgrounds. These people shared stories from their personal lives and backgrounds. It was inspiring to hear some of the things they had to say, and what they've been through. I learned that they all have the same values, believe in the same God, they just worship in different ways depending on their background and culture. They all had pride in their beliefs, and we were very lucky that they shared what they did with us.

Boori Pryor
Boori was was a man of Aboriginal background who came to talk to us, ended our day with a lot of laughs and left us with plenty of knowledge about the Aboriginal beliefs, difficulties, achievements and past experience. A lot of his knowledge was gained from when he was a child listening to he ancestors. Some stories were very inspirational, even when he put a funny twist to it to keep us entertained. At one point of his talk he stopped and played the didgeridoo for us, it was definitely interesting how he did it and the sound that came out. It was touching to listen to Boori, he told stories so well that you didnt want him to stop. I learned that the Aboriginals are very spiritual people, they are not only one with themselves and the people around them, but they are also one with the earth.
